It seems that A-list celebs aren’t content with just being A-list celebs. The one and only Anna from Frozen, or Kristen Bell, as she’s otherwise known, decided to branch out from acting in global hit films, and create a diaper company.
Strange, but true.
Hello Bello was created to give parents and carers the option of non-toxic, skin-healthy diapers and pull-ups, but without the hefty price tag.
Her diapers have proved to be a big hit, but how do Hello Bello pull-ups fare?
Let’s take a closer look at Hello Bello’s training pants: what they’re made of, if they’re effective, and if they’re truly good for sensitive skin.

What are Hello Bello Training Pants made of?
It’s so refreshing when diaper and pull-up brands make their ingredients list super accessible. The amount of hours I’ve lost to investigating diaper ingredients doesn’t bear thinking about…
But it’s so important to think about it, and make sure you’re informed; we put our little ones into diapers and pull-ups every day for the first years of their lives. Their skin is so sensitive and delicate, and it deserves only the best.
Luckily, I didn’t have to spend hours trawling the internet for a full list of Hello Bello’s ingredients.
Here’s what their pull-ups are made of:
Topsheet and Backsheet – Polypropylene/polyethylene/polyester nonwoven fibers
Core Liner (beneath acquisition layer) – Plant-derived PLA nonwoven fiber
The absorbent core – Totally chlorine-free fluff pulp from sustainably managed forests and SAP
All of the poly- ingredients are some form of plastic. This isn’t surprising, even with ‘healthier’ diapers. And there are currently no 100% biodegradable diapers or pull-ups on the market, so plastic is pretty difficult to avoid.
And they clearly make an effort to use some plant-based materials, although they don’t state what percentage of plant-based materials are used.
Are Hello Bello Training Pants good for sensitive skin?
Just as important as what goes into diapers and pull-ups is what doesn’t. So what do Hello Bello pull-ups avoid?
The brand tells us that Hello Bello training pants steer clear of:
It might surprise you to learn that lots of diapers and pull-ups contain a bunch of added chemicals. This is even more frustrating when you find out that they’re completely unnecessary and, like so many things in this world, it really comes down to convenience and cost.
It’s much cheaper and easier in a lot of instances to use certain chemicals, rather than omit them completely or find safe alternatives. Phthalates, for example, are used to make products more durable, but there are plenty of ways to do this that don’t involve potentially harmful chemicals, as non-toxic brands like Hello Bello, Honest and Seventh Generation can attest to.
So why are phthalates so bad? Well, along with fragrances and lotions, they have the potential to irritate the skin. Not only that, but they’ve been linked to asthma and eczema in young children.

It’s hard to believe that these toxins are ‘allowed’ to make their way into baby diapers. And this is exactly why we need to investigate before buying the right diapers and pull-ups for our little ones.

Hello Bello pull-ups reviews
Hello Bello training pants reviews are amazing to say the least. They average 4.5 out of 5 in over 210 reviews on Walmart’s website.
Parents and carers say that the pull-ups keep little ones dry, are soft on the skin, and it’s great that they’re free of harsh toxins.
1. How many training pants come in a pack of Hello Bello?
How many training pants you get in each pack of Hello Bello pull-ups will depend on the size you’re buying.
Over on Walmart’s site, you’ll get 25 training pants in a pack if you’re buying 2T-3T. You’ll get 22 if you’re buying size 3T-4T, and you’ll get 18 training pants.
2. Do Hello Bello training pants have velcro sides or easy-tear sides?
Pull-ups tend to feature either velcro sides or easy-tear sides. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, with many parents and carers preferring one over the other.
Training pants like Huggies Pull-Ups feature velcro sides. These are handy because you can check if they’re wet or soiled with ease, and simply stick the sides back together if your little one doesn’t need to be changed yet.
They’re also super handy for changing little ones without having to take their pants off first! Some say that they can irritate and nick the skin, though.
The vast majority of pull-ups feature easy tear sides. There’s no velcro, so once they’re off, they have to be thrown away.
Hello Bello training pants feature easy tear sides. That means (as the name suggests), the sides are easily torn and the diaper’s easy to remove.
3. What is the blue tape for on the Hello Bello Training Pants?
The blue tape on Hello Bello training pants is designed to make clean-ups super simple. Simply roll the training pants up and stick the blue tape down to secure it. It ensures that any messes – especially poopy ones – are kept contained!
Hello Bello Training Pants Alternatives
When it comes to non-toxic, hypoallergenic training pants, there are plenty on the market to choose from.
My favorite brands include Healthybaby, Eco Pea and Ecoriginals. All provide effective and completely non-toxic diapers that make efforts to use plant-based materials. In fact, Ecoriginals pull-ups are made with over 90% biodegradable materials. This is pretty amazing, considering most brands don’t make the effort to use a significant percentage of biodegradable materials, and most contain chemicals too.
Eco Pea is another of my favorite brands, using 85% biodegradable materials in their pull-ups, as well as being packaged in completely compostable paper packs.
No matter what pull-up you choose – whether A-list or not – the main thing is to avoid potentially harmful toxins. A significant percentage of plant-based and biodegradable materials is a bonus, and if your budget can stretch to it, they’re the gold-medal-winning choice.
Are Hello Bello pull-ups good? The good, the bad, the bottom line
The bottom line
Kristen Bell has clearly cracked this non-toxic pull-up thing. Completely shunning chlorine, fragrances, lotions and phthalates, Hello Bello training pants are effective, skin-friendly and good value for money.
The fact that they shun harmful toxins completely gives them a pass in my book. The uber-cute prints also help…
