With prices going up in all areas of life, more and more of us are looking for budget-friendly options. And considering little ones go through over 2000 diapers a year on average, choosing a value diaper adds up to a lot of savings.
Member’s Mark diapers are made by Sam’s Club – a grocery chain that requires a membership fee, just like Costco. Like Costco, Sam’s Club offers a whole range of products at budget-friendly prices, but you do have to factor in the cost of membership.
So what’s the deal with Member’s Mark diapers; they might be cheap, but are they worth trying? And what about toxins and eco credentials?

What brand of diapers is Sam’s Club brand?
Sam’s Club offers a wide range of own-brand items, named ‘Member’s Mark’. Member’s Mark items include everything from vitamins to diapers, and promise to offer great value.
Member’s Mark diapers are Sam’s Club’s own brand of diapers, so I’m hoping for big (or little) things when it comes to price.
Is Member’s Mark a Costco brand?
No, Member’s Mark isn’t a Costco brand. In fact, it’s a Sam’s Club brand. Like Costco, Sam’s Club Member’s Mark items include clothing, pet products and household cleaners. And, of course, diapers!

Members Mark diapers ingredients
I love it when brands provide a full and comprehensive list of ingredients used in their diapers. Unfortunately, Member’s Mark isn’t one of them.
While they tell us that their diapers are free of alcohol and fragrances, they don’t tell us about any other ingredients. So I assume the vast majority of the diaper is made with petroleum-based plastics.
I even contacted the brand for more information, but didn’t hear back. Considering our little ones wear diapers 24/7 for the first years of their lives, we need to know what’s in them!

Are Members Mark diapers non-toxic?
Member’s Mark diapers are made with a hypoallergenic liner. But that doesn’t mean the rest of the diaper is suitable for sensitive skin. And it’s a good idea to be cautious when brands claim that their diapers are hypoallergenic, as the term isn’t regulated by the FDA.
It looks like Member’s Mark diapers are completely free of latex and fragrances, which is a plus. Latex can cause allergic reactions, and fragrances and perfumes can easily irritate sensitive skin. But they don’t mention anything about chlorine, lotions or the dreaded phthalates, so I have to assume they’re used.
Phthalates are a problem because they’ve been linked to abnormal genital development as a result of interfering with hormones. There are lots of amazing phthalate-free diaper brands that still offer great value – Amazon’s Gentle Touch diapers are one of my favorites.
Do Member’s Mark diapers have chlorine?
The brand doesn’t mention chlorine, so I assume it’s used in the diapers. A diaper that’s totally chlorine free is a huge selling point, so the fact that they don’t mention it means it’s safer to assume it’s included.
There are loads of amazing chlorine-free diapers out, still at a decent price. Abby & Finn and Hello Bello diapers are two of my faves.

All in all, it’s clear that Member’s Mark diapers are super budget-friendly. The most popular brands on the market can range from 20 cents to 60 cents per diaper for the larger sizes, so Member’s Mark prices are pretty great.
You do have to factor in the cost of a Sam’s Club membership though, which ranges from $50 to $110. So unless you’re already a member, it might not be worth joining just to buy the diapers!
There are lots of similar budget-friendly diapers on the market, including Costco’s Kirkland diapers (but you’ll also need a Costco membership to purchase those), Parent’s Choice diapers by Walmart and Up & Up diapers by Target. Luvs are also a budget-friendly favorite. But the best budget-friendly diaper has to be Amazon’s Mama Bear Gentle Touch. These hypoallergenic, effective diapers are free of phthalates, fragrances and lotions, and are super (super) budget-friendly.
Member’s Mark Premium Diapers Reviews
Sam’s Club diaper reviews aren’t bad at all. They average 4.3 out of 5 in over 4180 reviews on the Sam’s Club site, with the vast majority of parents and carers giving them 5 stars.
Reviews say the diapers feel like they’re good quality, and they’re effective when it comes to preventing leaks.
Many say they work just as well as leading brands.
Where to buy Member’s Mark diapers
You can buy Member’s Mark diapers in Sam’s Club stores and online. It’s worth remembering, though, that you’ll have to pay to be a member in order to purchase from them. There are two different membership levels – Club and Plus. Club comes in at 50 bucks a year and Plus will set you back $110 per year.
With Plus, you get some extras like free shipping and savings on pharmacy and optical services.
Member’s Mark Diapers vs Pampers
The biggest difference between Member’s Mark diapers and Pampers diapers is price. Comparing Sam’s Club diapers with Baby Dry diapers, they’re pretty similar. Neither uses any plant-based materials or steers clear of phthalates, fragrances and lotions. But there’s a big difference in the price – size 3 Member’s Mark diapers will set you back 19 cents per diaper (on Sam’s Club website), while Pampers Baby Dry diapers will cost you about 30 cents per diaper (on the Walmart site).

Members Mark vs Huggies
Like Member’s Mark and Pampers, Member’s Mark and Huggies diapers share a lot of similarities. Both Sam’s Club diapers and Huggies Snug & Dry diapers have good reviews, are free of natural rubber latex and are made mainly with petroleum-based plastics. The biggest difference is price. Over on Walmart’s site, Huggies Snug & Dry diapers will set you back about 51 cents per diaper (size 3).

Neither Member’s Mark diapers nor Parent’s Choice diapers are free of phthalates, and both are made with petroleum-based plastics. Parent’s Choice diapers aren’t the best, averaging 4.1 out of 5, but they’re very budget-friendly. A pack of size 3 Parent’s Choice diapers will set you back just 14 cents per diaper on Walmart’s site.

Members Mark diapers vs Kirkland: are they the same?
Member’s Mark diapers are made by Sam’s Club. Sam’s Club is similar to Costco – both offer discounted products and require a fee for membership.
While Costco’s own brand is called Kirkland, Sam’s Club’s own brand is called Member’s Mark. Their diapers are similar when it comes to the sizes offered and the price. However, Costco’s diapers have slightly better reviews, and they even contain some plant-based materials! In fact, 23% of the diaper is made with plant-based ingredients, which is great news for our babies. While Costco’s diapers are free of elemental chlorine, fragrances, natural rubber latex and lotions, there’s no word on phthalates, so I have to assume they’re used.

What diapers are Member’s Mark diapers comparable to?
Member’s Mark diapers are super good value. But if you’re not already a Sam’s Club member and you’re not thinking of joining, it might be better to look elsewhere…
If you’re a member at Costco, you can buy Kirkland’s budget-friendly diapers. These soft and effective diapers have great reviews and are free of natural rubber latex, lotions, and elemental chlorine. But the brand doesn’t say anything about phthalates, so I assume they’re used. On the plus side, Kirkland diapers use 23% plant-based materials. If you’re not already a member, though, you will be looking at paying 60-120 bucks per year.
Other budget brands include Parent’s Choice diapers by Walmart, Luvs and Up & Up diapers by Target. But while these brands come in at a similar price to Member’s Mark diapers, none are free of phthalates. Costco’s diapers – Kirkland – are pretty budget friendly too. And while they’re not free of phthalates, they do use 23% plant-based materials.

But when it comes to budget-friendly and skin healthy, the best has got to be Mama Bear Gentle Touch diapers. These effective diapers are free of nasties like chlorine, lotions, fragrances, parabens and, perhaps most importantly, phthalates.
They’re suitable for both daytimes and nighttimes, and they come in at great prices. A 168 pack of size Mama Bear Gentle Touch diapers will set you back just $32.70 – that’s 19 cents per diaper.
So, really, there’s no contest. Amazon’s Gentle Touch diapers certainly win the battle of the budget brands!
Are Member’s Mark wipes any good?
Member’s Mark wipes are made without perfumes, phthalates and fragrances, alcohol and parabens, which is great news for our babies’ skin. They’re made with 99% water and the pack features a fancy ‘one-touch, press-open lid’.
Sam’s Club wipes are 3-ply so promise to be thick and tough, for the messiest of messes!
They average 4.6 out of 5 in over 1500 reviews, and a mega pack of 1152 wipes will set you back just over 20 bucks.
All in all, they’re certainly worth trying!

More and more of us are looking for budget-friendly options, especially when it comes to products we buy every week – diapers included. And every parent and carer knows just how many diapers our babies get through, which can add up to a lot of cash.
Sam’s Club is a grocery chain a bit like Costco. They require a membership, but offer good deals, bulk buys and special discounts. Their own brand – Member’s Mark – offers premium diapers that have good reviews. Most of all, they’re very budget-friendly, which is music to our ears!
But while they’re budget-friendly, they’re not completely free of chemicals, like the dreaded phthalates. And the brand doesn’t provide a full list of ingredients in their diapers, like many other brands do now.
And considering you can get Amazon’s Mama Bear Gentle Touch diapers for a similar price, and they’re free of horrible chemicals like phthalates, fragrances and lotions, it’s a no brainer. Member’s Mark diapers have some catching up to do…
